Tungsten–Rhenium Alloy Plate Description
As refractory metals, rhenium and tungsten both exhibit good ductility and strength. The addition of rhenium to tungsten increases the ductility, specific resistivity and vibration endurance of the W-Re alloy. These values fall within the range of superplastic materials. The W-Re alloy is recommended for elements in electrical vacuum devices such as cathodes, heating elements and grids for radio tubes. It is also applicable for thermocouples and electrical contacts.
