Niobium Boride Powder (NbB Powder) Description
Niobium Boride Powder (NbB Powder) is a grey, crystalline powder. It has a melting point of 2 270℃, a high level of hardness, good electrical and thermal conductivity, resistance to corrosion by molten metal and exhibits superconducting properties under defined conditions. NbB may be used in the manufacture of ultrahigh‐temperature structural materials and superconducting materials, which are applied in environments with extreme temperatures and exposure to molten metal.
Niobium boride is generally available in large quantities. Ultra-high purity, high purity, submicron and nanopowder forms are available.

Niobium Boride Powder (NbB Powder) Application
1. Cutting Tools: Niobium Boride Powder is utilised in the manufacture of cutting tools such as drills, milling cutters and saw blades. It increases the hardness, wear resistance and thermal stability, thereby extending the operational lifespan of these tools.
2. Metal Matrix Composites: Niobium Boride Powder can be added to metal matrices, such as aluminium or titanium, to improve their mechanical properties. This addition increases strength, hardness and wear resistance, making it suitable for aerospace, automotive and other structural applications.
3. Ceramic Materials: Niobium Boride Powder is used in the production of high-performance ceramics. It provides stability at elevated temperatures, electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion. Consequently, it is appropriate for components such as heaters, crucibles and thermocouples.
4. Electrical Contacts: Owing to its efficient electrical conductivity, Niobium Boride Powder is applied in the production of electrical contacts for high-capacity applications. This ensures effective electrical transmission and prolongs the service life of the contacts.
5. Superconductors: Niobium Boride Powder is employed in the development of superconducting materials. Its incorporation may increase the critical temperature at which these materials exhibit zero electrical resistance, thereby improving performance in applications such as energy storage and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
6. Thermal Insulating Coatings: Niobium Boride Powder can be integrated into thermal insulating coatings for protection in high-temperature environments. Given its high melting point and thermal stability, it is suitable as a ceramic coating material for components in gas turbines, jet engines and other heat-intensive systems.
