Incoloy alloy is a range of superalloys produced by Special Metals Corporation. They are nickel-iron-chromium alloys utilized for applications that require high corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength. Incoloy alloys exhibit distinctions in their applications due to their different compositions compared to Inconel alloys.
Alloy 800H is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy possessing the same basic composition as Incoloy 800, with considerably higher creep-rupture strength. The increased strength derives from precise control of carbon, aluminium, and titanium contents, coupled with a high-temperature anneal. The modification of 800H was done to control carbon (0.05 to 0.10%) and grain size (>ASTM 5) to optimise stress rupture properties. Alloy 800H has additional modifications to the combined titanium and aluminium levels (0.85 to 1.2%) to ensure optimal high-temperature properties. The alloy is dual-certified and combines the characteristics of both forms.
