Incoloy 27-7MO (Alloy 27-7MO, UNS S31277) Plate/Sheet Description:
Inconel®, Incoloy® and Monel® are registered trademarks of the Special Metals Corporation and its subsidiaries.
The Incoloy alloy 27-7MO is a superaustenitic stainless steel containing 7% molybdenum. It demonstrates improved corrosion resistance in most environments relative to superaustenitic steels with 6% molybdenum. In many environments Incoloy 27-7MO (UNS S31277) exhibits resistance approaching that of higher alloy materials such as INCONEL alloys 625, 22 and C-276. Incoloy 27-7MO products typically contain 27% nickel, 22% chromium, 7.2% molybdenum and 0.34% nitrogen. The alloy exhibits high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion due to its molybdenum, chromium and nitrogen content. Nickel, nitrogen and molybdenum confer resistance to reducing agents, whilst a high chromium content confers resistance to oxidising agents. Incoloy 27-7MO finds application in mixed acid environments, particularly those containing both oxidising and reducing acids.
